Frequently Asked Questions

ASSISTED LIVING

I don’t live at Sinai Residences. Can I still access your Assisted Living services?

Yes. All care levels at our Health Center are open to the public, and our Assisted Living services are available for direct admittance without an entrance fee.

How do I know if Assisted Living is the right choice?

If you or a loved one face challenges with daily tasks like taking medications, bathing, or dressing, ask your physician for advice. Their medical assessment helps individuals match their needs to the right level of assistance. Assisted Living at Sinai Residences is designed for those who value independence but may benefit from a helping hand with daily activities.

Are the apartment homes furnished?

Our Assisted Living residences are beautifully appointed and move-in ready, featuring elegant finishes and modern conveniences throughout. Each apartment is yours to personalize — bring your favorite furnishings, artwork, and meaningful touches to create a space that feels uniquely and unmistakably like home.

What if I or my loved one need more than what Assisted Living provides?

Beyond Assisted Living, Sinai Residences has an Extended Congregate Care (ECC) License and offers a full spectrum of award-winning, higher-level care, including Skilled Nursing, Short-Term Rehabilitation, and Memory Care. Our compassionate team provides 24-hour support for those recovering from illness or injury, as well as for individuals who require ongoing supervision or specialized care — all delivered with dignity, expertise, and comfort.

Do you work with Hospital Discharge Planners/Senior Placement Agencies/Other Referral Sources?

Yes, we work with a variety of referral sources. Please contact us at 561-609-4046 to get more information about how we partner with external referral sources.

MEMORY CARE

How is Memory Care different from Assisted Living?

Assisted Living supports residents who wish to maintain independence while receiving help with daily activities. Memory Care offers specialized, structured support for individuals with cognitive challenges, ensuring safety, engagement, and peace of mind for both residents and their families.

At Sinai Residences’ Memory Care neighborhood, every detail — from dining and activities to staffing and daily routines — is thoughtfully designed to meet the needs of residents at all stages of memory loss. In our elegant indoor spaces and serene landscaped courtyard, residents are fully supervised, while our compassionate team creates meaningful moments of connection and attentive care every day.

What’s the difference between dementia and Alzheimer’s disease?

Dementia is the loss of cognitive function (thinking, reasoning, recall) severe enough to interfere with daily functioning. Dementia isn’t a disease, but is associated with diseases like Alzheimer’s and is irreversible when caused by illness or certain injuries. Alzheimer’s is a degenerative brain disease that often causes dementia. It affects parts of the brain that control thought, memory, and language. One in nine people over the age of 65 suffers from dementia, affecting women more often than men.

Is your Memory Care staff specially trained?

At Sinai Residences, our nurses and caregivers are fully licensed professionals with specialized training in memory care. Their calm, compassionate approach provides comfort and confidence to both residents and their families.

What safety measures do you have in place?

Each private suite in our Memory Care neighborhood is thoughtfully situated within a secure, nurturing setting. Rooms are equipped with a 24-hour emergency call system and continuous monitoring, while indoor spaces are carefully designed to minimize confusion and wandering. Residents can also enjoy the outdoors safely in our secure, beautifully landscaped courtyard and memory garden, combining freedom of movement with peace of mind.

SKILLED NURSING

What is Skilled Nursing Care?

Skilled Nursing Care provides 24-hour medical support and supervision for individuals with complex health needs. It is delivered by licensed nurses and trained healthcare professionals who manage chronic conditions, post-surgical recovery, medication administration, and other specialized treatments.

At Sinai Residences, Skilled Nursing Care combines clinical expertise with a compassionate, resident-centered approach, ensuring that each individual receives attentive care in a comfortable, supportive setting, giving both residents and their families confidence and peace of mind.

When is Skilled Nursing needed?

Skilled Nursing Care is often required following a major illness, injury, or surgery, without the need for hospitalization. It includes support with higher-level activities of daily living (ADLs) and is tailored to meet each individual’s unique medical and personal needs. Conditions that may require skilled care include stroke, diabetes, Parkinson’s or Alzheimer’s disease, or recovery from a fall-related injury.

What is the difference between Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing?

Assisted Living promotes independence while providing supportive services for daily activities. Skilled Nursing offers a higher level of care, delivering around-the-clock medical supervision for individuals with significant health needs who do not require hospitalization. Whether it’s hands-on assistance with daily routines, rehabilitation services, or long-term care, Skilled Nursing ensures each resident receives expert, compassionate support tailored to their needs.

REHABILITATION

What types of Physical Therapy do you offer?

Our Physical Therapy programs combine strength and mobility training, muscle re-education, and therapeutic exercises, all tailored to help you regain function, restore confidence, and recover more quickly following an injury, illness, or surgery.

What types of Occupational Therapy do you provide?

Designed to enhance independence and quality of life, our Occupational Therapy program focuses on building strength and range of motion, integrating cognitive skills, mastering adaptive equipment, and refining the skills needed for everyday activities. Each plan is personalized to help residents live more confidently and comfortably in their daily routines.

What can I expect from Speech Therapy?

At Sinai Residences, our Speech and Language Pathologists provide comprehensive assessments for communication challenges and swallowing difficulties. They develop personalized treatment plans to restore language abilities, introduce alternative communication strategies, and address swallowing concerns through targeted exercises and dietary modifications.
